Dream of #2
We are excited to be jumping back into adoption and hoping to find a second child. Help us out if you know anyone!
Thank You!
Welcome to the most amazing adoption blog ever! And no I am
not just saying that because it is ours……ok so maybe I am just saying that because
I am a little bias J.
To start off we just want to say thank you for visiting our blog and joining us
in this great adventure of life and adoption. Are you here reading this because
you have been told about it, received an adoption pass-a-long card, or you saw
some crazy Ragnar runners and volunteers
with bright green shirts with the blog address on the back? by the way
thank you VERY MUCH team Running for the Health of it. But no matter how you
came here what is important to us is that you are here. We are a family that
has been blessed by adoption and we want to spread the word about advocating
adoption, also we are beginning the adoption process again to find another
child to add to our family. Hold onto your seat because it is going to be a
blast!
Whether we know you or not here is a little back story about
us. Before we got married we knew that we would not be able to have our own
biological children. I am not going to lie, it was difficult to tell the one I
love dearly that I could not have my own biological children. I was blessed
with an ABSOLUTELY wonderful spouse who determined that our relationship and love
was more of a priority than having biological children. She understood and was
open to other avenues of having children. A couple of years after we were
married we felt it was time to do what we could to have a family of our own and
we were led to adoption. For those of you who have been involved as a friend,
relative, birth parent, adoptive couple, adoptee, etc. know how crazy of a
process this can be for all who are involved. What a difficult yet blessed
choice adoption is. We just want to say that no matter how you are involved in
adoption you are not alone, you have support, friends, family, etc. who care
about you us them. We hope we can portray our support for you in your
situation(s) as well.
Just shy of 4 years after we started the adoption process we
received some miraculous news. There was a birthmother who chose us to be the
adoptive parents to her little girl who was due to be born in a few months. At
first we were in a bit of a shock but then reality set in and what joy and
gratitude we felt we looked at the ultrasound that was given to us of this
little girl. About a week later we met this AMAZING birthmother, we were
nervous but as we walked into the room and began talking it was like we were
old friends. Our nerves instantly settled and I do not recall any awkward
moments, just talking and building a friendship that we knew would last
forever. Those next few months we build a great relationship with each other
and one unforgettable night we received a call, it was time to head to the hospital
and get ready to meet our daughter. Our little girl was born and it all became
a reality, we were parents! All because of an amazing woman who knew placing
this child was the right thing for her and chose us! No words, act or gift can
ever come close to expressing the love and gratitude that we have and feel
every day for our little girl’s birth mother, if you are reading this again we
love you and thank you J. Though this
experience we came to witness firsthand that at the very core of adoption is
love. That is truly what it is all about love between; birthparent(s) and
child, adoptive couple and child, and birth parent(s) and adoptive couple.
Friends and family are also part of those relationships of love that is at the
core of adoption. we will tell you right now, when we adopted our little girl
we did not just have her join our family but her birth mother and her family
also joined our family.
We believe that a major factor that plays in the success of
adopting is spreading the word (aka networking) in fact that is how our little
girl’s birth mom found us. A coworker met her and told her about us and gave
her an adoption pass-a-long card. We would greatly appreciate you spreading the
word about us and the desire we have to grow our family through adoption. Tell
your friends, family, neighbors, etc. about this awesome blog you read and have
them check it out.
Adoption is a blessing based on love and we are so grateful
to be involved in adoption and we are anxious to have additional individuals
join our family through the blessing of adoption
