Even though it took Curtis a few weeks to ask me out on a date, we both were attracted to each other from the moment we met. We dated for about six months before getting engaged. While dating we enjoyed off-roading in Curtis' 4Runner, hiking, swing dancing, star gazing, and spending time with friends. We also enjoyed doing fun little things for each other (which we still enjoy doing!). Something that I did for Curtis was, I woke him up on Valentine’s and made him breakfast. As for Curtis he would buy me beautiful flowers or make me breakfast when I was stressed about my college finals. I loved walking into my room and seeing the flowers and notes, it made me feel so loved!

Some other fun experiences we had while dating was going on trips together. During one of our spring breaks we went on a temple trip with a few of our friends, we visited each temple on the Wasatch Front. It was fun to be in the temple with Curtis. Another trip we were able to go on was a Pioneer Trek, we got to see sights where the Pioneers traveled and camped on their way west. These trips were great times to really get to know each other.

We were engaged in the early spring of 2006. Curtis proposed to me on the way back to Price. He told me to close my eyes as he drove to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. He led me out of the car and around the parking lot, at that time he told me to open my eyes. I opened them and looked up to see the sun shine through the stain glass window as Curtis got down on one knee and proposed to me! I immediately said yes and then we hugged and kissed. Curtis is such a romantic and sweet guy who I love so much.

We were married that summer in the Salt Lake City temple. We enjoyed having our friends and family with us to celebrate our wonderful day. Our reception was beautifully decorated with white picket fences and wild flowers, but my favorite thing about the whole evening was being able to dance with my dad and my wonderful husband, my two favorite guys in the whole world.

We honeymooned in Yellowstone and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We drove Yellowstone’s whole lower loop in one day, which made for a lot of sightseeing and pictures. That night as we were sleeping Curtis turned over and asked me if I wanted to stop and take a picture, I looked over at him like he was crazy. He rolled back over and his dream picked up right where he left it. In his dream he thought to himself, “see I am not crazy." I am glad Curtis has only talked in his sleep a few times. While we were on our honeymoon we also went on a few hikes, on one of our hikes we found this little private lake where we enjoyed the beautiful view and some time alone. One night for dinner we went to this little authentic Italian restaurant where they made their own noodles and sauce, it was one of the best places we ever ate. We would love to go back!

Curtis and I both have a Bachelors Degree from Utah State University, we graduated December 2009. Curtis Graduated in Exercise Science and I graduated in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Education, Community and Child Development. Curtis has begun Utah State's Health Physical Education and Recreation Graduate program which he will graduate from in the summer of 2012. We are excited for Curt to get this part of his schooling completed and look forward to the next chapter of our lives!.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 47px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_t7be36Yl8cU/S8UVohmEDyI/AAAAAAAAAPY/kKidJvDbPrk/s400/2nd+hobbies+and+intrests-p001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459793909213564706" />

Christine

I love creating things and I am excited to share my talents with our children. I enjoy working with my hands and using my artistic and creativity skills. It's fun to be able to make jewelry for myself and others that match clothing. I also enjoy giving the jewelry as gifts or wearing the jewelry myself. I love when people notice the hard work I put into creating what I am wearing!

Along with making jewelry I have learned how to decorate hairclips and headbands by making flowers and spirals out of scraps of materials. These are fun inexpensive ways for me to accessorize and keep my hands busy while creating!

Even though I am not an expert, Scrapbooking has become a fun way for me to record our family memories. I love being creative and figuring out just the right way to cut and lay scraps of paper, embellishments and letters to create a beautiful page. It is quite enjoyable to look back at these pages and remember our favorite memories.

Another thing I like doing is reading. I like sitting out on the grass with a book on a sunny day.

Water is one of my favorite things! Though I am not an excellent swimmer I do love putting my feet in lakes and ponds, and playing in the waves of the ocean. I also enjoy going swimming when I get the chance. (I think this a trait I inherited from my mom because she is also a water bug!)

Curtis

I really enjoy working with my hands as well and although I consider myself amateur I do enjoy creating things, especially with wood! I have made a couple of wood burnings, a deer antler lamp, and a couple of other creations. When I do these projects I love looking at the finished project and thinking to myself "I accomplished that!", and I love to share them with others. Growing up in Kamas Valley I was just a five minute drive to the mountains and about a 20 minute drive to total forest seclusion. I do love being in the outdoors and I love to do whatever I can while I am there, be it fishing, hunting, hiking, four wheeling, camping, or anything else. I am glad that I have been able to and will be able to share this love I have with my wife, my family, and our children.

Together

Curtis and I absolutely love and adore children. We enjoy spending time with our four adorable nieces and one handsome nephew, whether we are playing with games and toys, playing at the park, or going on walks. We are excited when we get the chance to babysit our neighbors’ children or even get an opportunity to play with them. One of our friends said that she loves to see Curtis around children because he is just as entertaining as the children! I agree! It is wonderful to see him playing with the children on their level.
I also enjoy working with children in home, school, and child care settings I feel good knowing that I am helping children learn and grow. I worked as a reading aid in an elementary school and I enjoyed seeing the students get excited when their reading would improve. One little girl came and gave me a hug because she was so happy. I also liked receiving thank you notes from the students. My favorite was when a little first grader spelled out in magnetic letters “I Love Yuo.” I thought it was sweet and her little misspelling was adorable.

Curtis and I both love animals, whether it is spending time with family pets or seeing them at the Zoo. Curtis' family has a couple of dogs and a couple horses; they have also had chickens, turkeys, goats, sheep, and pigs. Over my lifetime my family has had three bunnies and three dogs. Currently my parents own two birds in the parrot family who love to talk and ride around on your shoulder, and my younger sister has a cute black bunny that lives in my parent’s basement. Curtis and I hope to have a dog someday when we live somewhere we are allowed to have pets.

Playing games is something that we enjoy doing with our families, friends, or just the two of us. Playing games is great way to get to know people.

Curtis' family will often pull out a deck of Uno or Rook cards and sit around the table to play a game, but you have to watch out because some of Curtis' family likes to increase their odds! They recently bought a Wii, so we have enjoyed Just Dance and mini games (like bowling, sawing logs, racing). It is fun to get the whole family playing together.

My family enjoys playing games on the Wii such as Mario Cart and Super Mario Brothers (Curtis and my sister usually play each time we go) or Wii sports. However my brother and sister introduced the dice game Farkel, which we have enjoyed lately.

During our free time Curtis and I enjoy playing video and board games together or with friends. Some of our favorite games are Lego Harry Potter, Kinetic Adventures (It is fun with others and a great way to exercise!), Rummikub, Carcassonne, Settlers, and Dominion. Games are a great way to pass the time.

Once in a while we will pull out a puzzle to put together as we are watching TV in the evenings. Doing puzzles together keeps our mind active and they will make nice wall decorations. Some of the shows we enjoy watching together are Psych, Leverage, Myth Busters, and Wizards of Waverly Place. Also we recently finished the series Avatar (The Last Air Bender).

Cooking is something we enjoy doing since it gives us time to talk and spend together after Curtis comes home from work. Occasionally we enjoy trying new recipes or making fun desserts. One recipe we recently tried was peach pie, we had to do some improvising so it was a little juice, but it was still delicious.

One thing to know about Curtis and I is that we are young at heart! We love Disney Land, Disney and Pixar movies, and Disney Channel. We have had the privilege of going to Disney Land twice recently! We really enjoyed riding the rides, and seeing the shows and characters. And after not having gone since we were about 8 years old, we loved it! We are so grateful to my dad for taking the entire family on a vacation to Disney Land as one last “big” vacation before we all start having children, and moving away. It was fun to be there with my family, all acting like we were kids again! The other time we went with some friends and their kids to celebrate after graduation! Since we had not been to Disney Land with kids (since we were kids), it brought a whole new level of magic to the park. We are excited to one day take our children there and share with them our favorite things about Disney Land.

Another activity we enjoy is finding places where we can hike. It does not matter if we go hiking up the canyon about 15 minutes from our house or as we visit national parks in Utah and surrounding states. We like spending time outside to exercise and enjoy the fresh air. We tried snowshoeing this winter and loved it! So now we can get out doors more in the winter. It is also amazing to see all the beautiful creations our Savior has created for our enjoyment.

Our friends are a great blessing and support in our life and we enjoy spending time with them! We love doing things together--playing games, eating dinner, watching movies, going hiking, or just sitting around visiting. Our friends make life exciting and it is so nice to be able to rely on them when we need to.

Curt and I just enjoy spending as much time together as we can. We get along really well and truly are best friends. We like going on walks, going to the temple, snuggling on the couch, watching TV or whatever we can to spend quality time with one another.

Christine's Family

I love my family and enjoy spending time with them. I have two older brothers the oldest being married, a younger sister, and wonderful parents. We enjoy going on vacations, playing a friendly game of Mario Cart, watching movies, having a barbeque, playing with the birds, or just sitting around talking. Curtis and I like getting together with my brother and his wife and going camping, hiking, on trips (going up to the Idaho Falls Zoo and Vegas to visit my Grandpa). I have also enjoyed having my sister live by me while she is going to school. I enjoy spending time with her, she is one of my best friends. We are a crazy bunch of people, but we love and support each other in everything that we do. I am grateful for my family and the support they are to us during hard times in our life.

Curtis' Family

My family clan consists of my older brother, his wife and now five children (4 girls and 1 boy), my two older sisters, my little sister & her husband, and Mom & Pops. We enjoy getting together and just doing pretty much whatever. We like to play games, go fishing, have a bar-b-q, ride the horses, or just sit and visit. Other things that we enjoy are; singing, being in plays, spending time outdoors, playing sports as well as many other activities.
We have always been a close knit family and although we have had some tense times we all feel the love and support we have for one another. To me it is amazing to see how that love and support increases with each day, and with each addition to the family.
